How wonderful is The Wiz? Winner of seven Tonys, including Best Musical, this Broadway sensation has inspired numerous revivals and a legendary movie starring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. Today the magic continues as the yellow brick road rolls right across the stage of the Strand Theatre in Dorchester thanks to the Fiddlehead Theatre Company. A retelling of L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in the context of African-American culture, The Wiz combines fairy-tale glamour with street-wise soul. With a lively mix of rock, gospel and soul, this production features a score full of beloved hits like "Ease on Down the Road," "A Brand New Day" and "Home" (a number recently heard on both Glee and Smash)
