In his powerful, poignant, and often hilarious memory play, screenwriter/playwright/director Kenneth Lonergan examines a painful chapter from his family’s then-recent past, framed within a harrowingly honest group portrait — his grandmother Gladys’ slow, inexorable decline into dementia. The Waverly Gallery explores her fight to retain her independence and the subsequent toll her decline exacts on her family, particularly her grandson.
