We are excited to see you again! Our team has been hard at work preparing to reopen and we look forward to seeing you at the USS Constitution Museum starting on Friday, August 7. We’re sure you have questions on what to expect, so take a look at our new policies and procedures below.
Online Timed Ticketing
Reservations are now required to enter the Museum. Tickets will become available on Wednesday, August 5th at usscm.org/tickets. This new system helps manage our visitor capacity throughout the day.
As a reminder, your ticket does not include time aboard USS Constitution (the Ship). Visit USS Constitution’s website for more information on visiting the Ship.
Entry to the Museum
Plan to arrive at the USS Constitution Museum within the 30-minute time frame designated on your timed ticket. The USS Constitution Museum is located inside the Charlestown Navy Yard and across from USS Constitution (the Ship). Our Museum’s front entrance has bright red doors.
Re-entry after your 30-minute time frame is not permitted at this time to maintain accurate capacity limits.
New Visitor Policies
The safety of our visitors and staff remains our top priority. With this goal in mind, all staff and visitors are required to adhere to the following new policies:
- Wear a face covering over your nose and mouth at all times (Ages 2+)
- Stay at least 6 feet away from others
- Wash or sanitize hands frequently
- Please do not visit if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19
Exhibit & Experience Modifications
All exhibits will be open to explore with markers on the floor to help maintain the recommended six-feet of physical distance. While some elements have been temporarily removed, such as the hammocks and play food, you will still find several of your favorite hands-on interactives and all of your favorite artifacts to enjoy.
New to the experience is one-way foot traffic throughout the Museum. The final stop in the experience is our Museum Store – the largest on the Freedom Trail!
Staff are also still available to answer questions and bring USS Constitution’s history to life behind a plexiglass station.
Cleaning Procedures
Professional cleaners will be frequently cleaning high-touch points throughout the day as well as using an electrostatic cleaner every 90-minutes to disinfect public spaces. The Museum’s HVAC system has also been calibrated to introduce more outside air.
The USS Constitution Museum will continue to refine and adapt its protocols based on emerging public and environmental health recommendations.
