Boston’s business community is still trying to recover from a pandemic that impacted every business and every worker. But Black and Brown business owners face additional challenges presented by COVID-19 and ongoing systemic inequalities. What will it take for these businesses to not only survive, but thrive?
Join host Dan Lothian and local business owners including Nia Grace, owner and operator of Darryl’s Corner Bar & Kitchen, co-founder of the Boston Black Hospitality Coalition and the owner of The Underground Café + Lounge and, Heather White, CEO and Founder of TrillFit, and additional guests as they share their thoughts on the state of BIPOC business ownership in Boston. Learn what investments are needed and help celebrate some businesses who have overcome the odds.
After the formal presentation concludes, guests have an opportunity for networking/mingling in in the GBH Studio at the Boston Public Library’s Newsfeed Café with other business owners and colleagues. The event is free, but space is limited and reservations are required. Learn more or register now for this event.
The State of Race is a forum about race and inequality in partnership with The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, The Black Economic Council of Massachusetts, NAACP Boston Branch and GBH World.
