The Puppet Showplace Slam returns this May with a stellar show marking one whole year of outrageous, mind-blowing, creative virtual performances. Our unique cabaret features innovative, irreverent, and inspiring acts, all performed in different locations across Greater Boston (and beyond!) and zoomed straight to the comfort of your home. Hosted live from Puppet Showplace Theater, acts includes multiple puppetry styles, emerging and professional artists, live music, studio visits, and MORE. After the show, stick around for an interactive behind-the-scenes Q&A with the puppeteers, and a farewell toast to Artistic Director Roxie, who after 11 years at the theater will pass the top hat to a new leadership team this June.
This performance will take place over Zoom. RSVP online, and we'll send a link to your e-mail one hour before the event.
FREE (Donations welcome, suggested $10-$50 per household)
What is a Puppet Slam?
Every other month, Puppet Showplace Theater stays open late (virtually) to showcase the region's finest short-form puppetry acts...for adults! Each piece is performed by a different artist, and the content ranges from hilarious to profound and everything in between. The performers include everyone from veteran professionals to first-time puppeteers, and acts often feature musicians, dancers, circus performers, and other affiliated artists.
