The Love Doctor will see you now!
About this Event
The Boston Poetry Brothel is here to jumpstart your heart during this cold COVID winter. Feeling frigid? Have a lingering case of the 2020s? Madam (President) Betty BOOM and her bevy of poetry whores have the tender medicine to nurse you back to health. Come for the show, stay for private performances; our Love Doctors are available to see couples, thruples, singles, and minxes. Want an even more personalized special prescription? Purchase VIP tickets for premium care.
NOTES FROM THE MANAGEMENT
Curated by our brand new Boston madam, Betty BOOM!, the show begins promptly at 8pm EST (Eastern Standard Time) and runs approximately 1 hour.
This event will be conducted via Zoom—attendees who are new to Zoom are encouraged to download the Zoom app ahead of time, as the event will begin promptly at the top of each hour. Zoom links and instructions for entering will be provided via email after registration.
This event is open to everyone— humans, animals, gods, and monsters of all ages. Please keep in mind, however, that the show may include nudity, flashing lights, and/or a startling glimpse of your true self!
Thematic costumes and festival attire are very much encouraged but not required.
Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions at all.
ABOUT THE POETRY BROTHEL
The Poetry Brothel is an international platform that presents artists and activists working in a variety of mediums through its ever-changing array of intimate, interactive, and poetic performances & services. Artists performing with the Brothel may be female, male, other, faeries, sea creatures, witches, aliens, straight, queer, creators of all colors, emerging, established, local, international, virgins, whores, and everything in between. The Poetry Brothel celebrates paid personal connection, but recognizes that not everyone can take off the mask of being a “whore” at the end of the night, and therefore uses its platform to support sex workers, and to teach the public that sex work is real work. Sex work and poetry are two of the oldest professions - both feed the human need for intimacy, fantasy, and desire. By entwining these elements into a seamless, immersive experience, The Poetry Brothel promotes empowered sexuality practices and progressive artistic expression by exhibiting radical inclusion, consensual intimacy, conscious communication, and the inherent value of beauty in all its forms.
