Let PureSpark and the Museum of Science help you navigate your mental health by connecting you with the right resources in a special evening of dialogue and community. Start the night with a keynote presentation examining what’s really getting in the way of mental health within the Black community, and then have the chance to connect with a range of therapists and wellness providers during a meet-and-greet that takes over the Blue Wing of the Museum, where all you need to set up your first appointment is your health insurance information.
When PureSpark first launched, we recognized a few disparities in our community related to mental health mainly the lack of Black therapists in the Massachusetts area and an inability to adequately connect individuals to available therapists due to low income and or insurance type. As an organization, PureSpark’s mission is to help black people living in the Greater Boston area along on their wellness journey; from beginning to end. From education; learning about the symptoms of depression and anxiety to implementation; practicing yoga and seeking out a therapist. We want to help fill the gap and to take the guesswork out of wellness and help to empower those who want to start on their own personal healing journey. Our end goal is to work towards creating a healthier and more peaceful community where people respond versus react; where a mental health diagnosis is no longer looked at as a death sentence; we aim to end the stigma in our community.
