The Phoenix, a nonprofit organization that fosters a supportive, sober active community for individuals recovering from substance use as well as allies and supporters of those in recovery, will host a block party to celebrate National Recovery Month and the thriving recovery community on Saturday, September 17. The event will be held at The Phoenix’s Boston location in Newmarket Square and feature a day of fun, fitness, and food, as well as resource tables of other local organizations supporting the recovery community. As is the case with all of The Phoenix’s programming, the event is free to attend.
September is National Recovery Month, when millions of Americans are recognized for their courage and strength while in recovery from substance use disorder. The Phoenix’s Founder and National Executive Director Scott Strode will welcome attendees and share information about The Phoenix’s mission, recent milestones and impact with the Boston recovery community. Since 2006, The Phoenix’s free sober active community has inspired more than 104,000 people internationally to rise from the ashes of addiction through the support of those who are walking that very same path.
