Boats, boats everywhere, it seems only reasonable to expect that South Street Gallery, South Shore’s premier fine art gallery supporting area artists, should host a painting exhibition of boats. Sometimes we take for granted what is all around us, whether wrapped in storage, under repair or in the water; boats are in our landscape. It is time to pay them homage. To that end, South Street Gallery invited some of the most dynamic painters of boats and ten are submitting four thematic boat paintings each.


The opening reception of this special show which is open to all will take place at South Street Gallery on Friday, April 13, from 6 to 8 pm, refreshments will be served. The Painted Boat exhibition will be on display from April 13 until May 10, 2018.


Hingham artist Michael Weymouth is one of the ten participating artists and he will perform a painting demonstration of a lobster boat on Saturday, April 28, stay tuned!
