The Nakamichi Series at Stonehill College presents The Modernistics, The Twenties Roar Again!   The esteemed quintet evokes the vitality and mystique of the 1920s with exhilarating songs, tap-dance, and instrumentals.  Experience the youthful genius of George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael, and other master tunesmiths as they emerged on the world stage. A joyful and stylish portrait of the era, delivered with a 21st-century groove! 

 

Among the many audience favorites are Blue Skies, Love Me or Leave Me, Fascinating Rhythm, I Want To Be Happy, Stardust, and Let’s Misbehave.

 

The Modernistics are the acclaimed singing and tap-dancing team of Ted Powers and Pamela Powers, with virtuoso jazz musicians Peter H. Bloom on flute, Mark Leighton on guitar, and Dave Zox on double-bass.
