JazzBoston's Jazz Week 2017 kickoff event features Roxbury's favorite jazz orchestra performing in a ballroom dance setting, recalling the way jazz was often experienced in earlier eras. Dancers Mickey Davidson and Brian Davis will be on hand to lead, encourage, and guide people on the dance floor. Kurtis Rivers, Armir Lee, Arni Cheatham, Sean Berry, Charlie Kohlhase (saxophones); Jerry Sabatini, Feya Faku(trumpets); Ku-umba Frank Lacy, Sarah Politz (trombones); Bill Lowe (bass trombone); John Kordalewski (piano); John Lockwood (bass); Yoron Israel (drums).
