The Makanda Project begins its fall 2024 series of indoor concerts with a special configuration featuring three master drummer/percussionists: Yoron Israel, Warren Smith, and Thurman Barker. Collectively, they play all forms of percussion along with the drum set, and draw from a wealth of experience, including Mr. Smith's time in the historic percussion ensembles of Max Roach (M'Boom) and Tony Williams (Lifetime). The concert will feature pieces from the Makanda Project's repertoire, rearranged for the three-percussionist lineup.
