Boston's acclaimed 13 piece jazz ensemble has been collaborating with renowned saxophonist Chico Freeman for the past 5 years, with performances in Europe as well as the United States, and an expanding repertoire of Freeman compositions arranged by Makanda Project leader John Kordalewski. For this concert, the group will further explore the riches of Mr. Freeman's compositions, performing newly-arranged pieces for the first time as well as some that have become favorites. There will also be a special guest appearance by the City Strings United cello section.
There will be two separate shows, at 7:00 and 8:30. Seats remain for the 8:30 show only. Reservations are recommended: for reservations email [email protected].
