Jazz great Charles Tolliver returns to the Roxbury Library for another performance with Boston's Makanda Project, to begin the group's 2025 season. Trumpeter and composer Charles Tolliver has an important place in jazz history as leader of ground-breaking small groups in the 1970s, as the founder of musician-run Strata-East Records, and as composer/arranger/leader of remarkable big bands. The concert will feature his compositions and big band arrangements, including pieces that have become classics in our time.
Admission is free. There will be two shows, at 7:00 and 8:30; seating is limited so reservations are recommended. SEATS REMAIN FOR 8:30 SHOW ONLY. For reservations email [email protected]; specify which show and how many people.
