The Makanda Project's first 2024 summer jazz concert will take place in a unique location: DCR Malibu Beach in Dorchester. The event will utilize one of Boston's more attractive as well as lesser known public spaces, for an artistic experience enhanced by the environment in which it takes place. The afternoon will also include segments led by Black Cotton Club, a Dorchester-based organization that creates participatory, improvised arts experiences.
