The Last Wide Open: "Heart-warming. Sweet. Downright funny.”
The Umbrella Stage Company returns to live theater with this unconventional romantic musical comedy by rising star playwright Audrey Cefaly, directed by Nancy Curran Willis.
Fate plays its hand in this intoxicating blend of indie/folk music and magical storytelling. We are introduced to Lina and Roberto, an unlikely pair, caught alone in a restaurant after-hours during a late-night thunderstorm. Over wine and conversation, they test the waters of happiness and intimacy, and discover their lives intersecting in mystical and surprising ways.
But…will they leap?
An inspiring story that promises to renew our faith in the power of human connection, The Last Wide Open is a perfect date-night choice, and a wonderful way to return to live theater.
Stars Rebecca Shor, Ethan Butler, and Kayla Shimzu
