Good oral health is not just about a bright smile and fresh breath. With poor oral health linked to heart disease, stroke, diabetes and other chronic illnesses, it is about overall quality of life. Join Dr. Athanasios Zavras– clinician, researcher and educator– for a fascinating discussion of the links between poor oral health and chronic illness, and how inflammation, polypharmacy, and even cancer can affect our mouth and our quality of life.
This program presented in partnership with Beacon Hill Village as part of their Living Well Ending Well series will happen over Zoom webinar. Registration required. Please visit this link to register. Registrants will receive a link the day before the program.
Athanasios Zavras, DDS, SM, DMSc is Professor and Chair of Public Health and Community Service at Tufts School of Dental Medicine. He is the Assistant Dean for Faculty Advancement at TUSDM and former President of the American Board of Dental Public Health. His research and speaking are focused primarily on the adverse effects of bone anti-resorptive medications (such as Osteonecrosis of the Jaw) and the etiology and management of head and neck cancer.
