This spring, Curtain Call Theatre in Braintree will present The House of Blue Leaves, directed by Jo d’Angelo. Winner of the Drama Critics Circle Award and the Obie Award for Best Play in 1971, plus 8 Tony Award nominations for the 1986 revival, John Guare’s The House of Blue Leaves is a hilarious, heartbreaking, farcical journey through the lives of a Queens, NY, family that gets turned upside down as Pope Paul VI visits New York City in 1965.
Performances will take place May 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 8 p.m., and May 5 and 12 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased at www.curtaincallbraintree.org or by calling 1-866-811-4111.
Says Curtain Call Theatre President, Toni Ruscio, “We are thrilled to be able to bring this fun, dark comedy to our audiences. I think everyone could use a good laugh these days and we can offer people that opportunity for at least a couple of hours. The cast and production team are truly wonderful.”
About Curtain Call Theatre
Curtain Call Theatre (CCT) was founded in June 1962, when a core group of local performers from various little theatre groups united to perform Oklahoma! Says CCT president, Toni Ruscio: “Our purpose is to provide a medium for people to develop their creative talents through experience in the field of theater. Curtain Call Theatre stages three productions a year. Auditions are open to everyone and we encourage all who are interested in live theatre to participate.”
