An Art History presentation with author Andrew Linnell.
When did the celebration of Christmas begin? Were there other festivals at this time? Did Christianity “steal” these festivals? Why are the nativity stories of Matthew and Luke so different? What were the prophecies about the coming of a messiah? We’ll explore such questions through insights from spiritual science and revelations in Renaissance art. We'll pay particular attention to Leonardo's Virgin of the Rocks as well as the works of several of Leonardo's students. This will lead to an unusual but exciting conclusion. A gem for Renaissance art history students.
