Winchester Community Music School is collaborating with the Friends of the Winchester Public Library to present a dynamic evening with Carter Alan, longtime DJ and music director at WZLX in Boston and author of “Decibel Diaries: A Journey through Rock in 50 Concerts.” Alan's book chronicles decades of rock 'n' roll history with a sweeping tour of milestone performances from B.B. King and Eric Clapton to David Bowie and the Clash. Following Alan’s presentation, WCMS students will perform an acoustic set featuring music by the bands and artists highlighted in the book. Music will include songs by George Harrison, Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, U2, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam. Free admission. A book signing will follow. For more information, call 781-721-2950 or visit www.winchestermusic.org. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Winchester Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
