Since the founding of the United States, artists have played an essential role in establishing its national mythology. Modern and contemporary artists have continued to examine Americana and national symbols and ask critical questions about the American dream and experience.
Join Madeleine Day Delpha, Assistant Director of Programs and Community Engagement and Dr. Rajesh Sampath, Associate Professor of the Philosophy of Justice, Rights, and Social Change at Brandeis, for a virtual lunchtime talk highlighting provocative artworks that call attention to the nation’s historical injustices, examine America’s national identity and advocate for a "more perfect union" by reconciling myth with reality.
This program will have automated captions and is hosted via Zoom webinar. Registration is required.
