The "BUY ME, BOSTON" VIDEO LOFT is a 90-minute, Boston-centric program of wacky, rare and culturally significant videos hosted by "Buy Me, Boston" author Brian Coleman, with nuggets gathered during various archival digs around the region.
Ranging from performance and studio [MTV/V66] music videos by Boston artists, to local access & talk show oddities, and long-forgotten local TV commercials from the 1960s – 1980s, each presentation of the "Buy Me, Boston" Video Loft is unique, with quick intros for each segment made on-stage by Coleman, alongside invited guests.
For the Aug 22 installment, part of the Brattle’s “Reel Music” series, the Video Loft will focus on Boston-centric live music performances from the 60s – 90s, including exclusive clips culled from the Billy Ruane “Road To Ruane” Video Archives (https://www.youtube.com/user/RoadToRuane/videos) and the Massachusetts Rock Against Racism Archives at UMass Boston. As with all things Buy Me, Boston, there will be a wide range presented, from punk and funk to reggae and jazz.
