The Blue Hill Observatory's annual Earth Day Event, "Climb for Climate," will take place on Saturday, April 19th, from 10 AM to 4 PM. New this year, we are hosting an open house all day! Visitors may explore the Observatory on their own.


About the Event

Celebrate Earth Day 2025 at the Blue Hill Observatory by immersing yourself in the natural setting of the Blue Hills Reservation while climbing to our site 635 feet high on top of Great Blue Hill with family, friends, or co-workers.


Once you reach the top, climbers will tap a LED counter, joining a tally of total climbers.


Our goal is to encourage as many climbers as possible to come out and enjoy everything that the Observatory and our stunning location have to offer. This year, we are hosting an all-day “open house” event. Anyone climbing can explore the Observatory on their own between 10 AM and 4 PM.


Plus, our volunteers will capture what “Earth Day Means to You,” which we will share on our website and social media. Below are just a few inspirational quotes from past climbers—
