Cambridge is the place to be when it comes to events and things to do. Here are some of our favorite attractions to “live like a local” in Harvard Square and beyond.
Visit a Museum at Night:
MIT Museum after Dark - A monthly adults-only, after-hours event at the MIT Museum that is not to be missed. Billed as a night full of science and surprises, it promises live music and a pop-up cash bar featuring artisan lite-bites by culinary specialists from around the city.
Harvard Museums - In town on a Thursday? Harvard Art Museums at Night takes place the last Thursday of every month (holidays permitting), from 5 to 9pm. Each night features a new mix of local talent at this cannot miss experience.
Get outside:
The Mount Auburn Cemetery - It’s first and foremost a cemetery, and he lie some of the most famous Bostonians. It’s also a National Historic Landmark celebrated for incredible landscapes and architecture. Go during the fall for some of the best foliage in the area or to one of their special events to celebrate the winter solstice. It’s a serene spot for a hike or a moment of solitude.
Eat delicious bites:
Verveine - It’s a new obsession of the Joyraft team. They have incredible baked goods and you will be shocked they are gluten free.
Cicada - Another Joyraft team favorite. An intimate self-serviced restaurant with creative Viet menu, natural wine, artistic design.
L.A Burdicks - if you are looking to satisfy your chocolate cravings (whether in solid or liquid form), this is the place. Our users voted this as their favorite hot chocolate and we can see why.
Break the mold with something unique:
Glitter Boys at The Sinclair - This place is known as a concert and live music venue. However, every Friday night, The Sinclair turns into the ultimate vinyl disco dance party with neon color and sometimes even dancers with rollerblades on. If you’re looking for a Boston/Cambridge rite of passage, brave the line and dance the night away with the iconic Glitter Boys for their 70’s and 80’s vinyl set.
Candlepin Bowling in Somerville - Try your hand at this uniquely New England pastime. It looks easy, but trust us, it is absolutely not.
Or, stay put at the Charles Hotel. With amazing food (what is better than brunch at Henrietta’s table, a drink at Noir Bar, or a show at Regattabar Jazz Club?) With a variety of special events...you’ll never want to leave!
