This free public forum will also include a number of sustainable-oriented businesses and vendors to share how they embrace sustainability.
Meet our esteemed panel of speakers:
Peter Mezitt: Sustainable Gardening
President, Weston Nurseries
Peter is a 4th generation owner of Weston Nurseries. He grew up in Hopkinton, attended Syracuse University and received his B.S. in Marketing & Finance in 1989. After graduating, Peter worked for seven years at AllGro, Inc. where he served as a sales representative, and eventually sales manager developing markets for bulk compost products throughout the northeast. He joined his family business in 1996 where he first ran the wholesale division for the company. In subsequent years, Peter held positions of Marketing Manager, Director of Sales, and General Manager. After working under an outside CEO for a few years, Peter took over as President in 2007. He is married to Karen Mezitt and has three kids – Nathan, Anna, and Madeline. He lives in Hopkinton, Ma, serves on the local Chamber of Commerce, and enjoys gardening, golfing, hockey and traveling. He is also currently serving as president of the Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Association.
Leslie Samuelrich: Sustainable Investing
President, Green Century Capaital Management
Leslie leads Green Century Capital Management, which have experienced unprecedented growth under her leadership since 2012. Ms. Samuelrich has more than 25 years of experience in corporate engagement, and environmental and public health advocacy. Her comments on responsible investing, greenwashing, and shareholder engagement have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters, Morningstar, the New York Times, Barron’s, and many other outlets. She is a guest lecturer on impact investing at The Wharton School. She also was selected as one of the “43 World-Changing Women in Conscious Business” in 2020. She holds a BA in Economics from Boston College.
Scott Richardson, AIA, LEED AP: Sustainable Infastructure

Scott is committed to creative problem-solving and careful oversight for each of his projects. He is passionate about sustainable design and is a LEED-Accredited Professional. He provides leadership on all the firm’s green projects and strives to incorporate environmentally responsible design practices into all GRLA’s work.
Scott is an active member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. He is focused on putting his passion for sustainability into practice and delivers an informative and impactful presentation to audiences who are seeking not only scientific data, but specific strategies that can be employed immediately to help our planet.
Jeffrey N. Roy: Sustainable Legislature
Massachusetts State Representative
State Representative Jeffrey N. Roy was first elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives for the 10th Norfolk District in 2012 and represents the residents of Franklin and Medway. He was re-elected in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020 and was appointed Chairperson of the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities & Energy in 2021. He previously served as Chair of the Joint Committee on Higher Education and as Acting Chair of the Joint Committee on Health Care Finance. He is the House-Chair of the Manufacturing Caucus, which promotes and encourages “Making It” in Massachusetts.
Since 2013 Jeff has been part of a legislative team that has addressed the issues of education, economic development, the coronavirus pandemic, health care, substance use disorder, criminal justice, civil rights and social equity, gun safety, energy, and the environment.
