Join us via Zoom for a virtual poetry reading, hosted by Write the World, the global community for young writers and the Boutelle-Day Poetry Center at Smith College! We will feature the original poems of young writers around the world who participated in Write the World poetry events, followed by a Q&A.
The Boutelle-Day Poetry Center at Smith College was founded in 1997 and has hosted many esteemed poets, from Mary Oliver to Elizabeth Alexander, Gwendolyn Brooks to Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Nikky Finney to Ross Gay, and more.
The event will be MC’d by Smith alum and Write the World Teaching Artist Cai Sherley ‘19. Attendees will hear from over a dozen young poets eager to share their work with the world; acting Director of the Center and celebrated poet Matt Donovan, who will share insight into the history of the Center; and Write the World Executive Director Clare McFadden, who will speak about Write the World programming.
