TCN UpStart Roundtables are monthly gatherings at the Venture Cafe that bring together Boston-area early-stage startups and seasoned entrepreneurs. This free series with The Capital Network, Venture Cafe, and Silicon Valley Bank is a great opportunity for you to ask burning questions about starting a company and meet other like-minded entrepreneurs in a casual cafe setting.
This week we asked Grace Xiao, Co-Founder & CEO of KYNPLEX to come and discuss how – while studying neurobiology at Harvard – she realized 2 things: that scientific information is ineffectively scattered AND that hubs of cutting-edge innovation are isolated by geography and research field, with no easy way to find collaborative opportunities. In response, she co-founded Kynplex and left Harvard as a Thiel Fellow to centralize scientific interactions on a single intuitive platform. By connecting innovators from science labs, companies and funding agencies, Kynplex forges global infrastructure for scientific communication and expands the impact of research breakthroughs.
Their platform connects key people and opportunities so that more research ideas have the resources to become practical applications. With Kynplex, scientific labs can showcase their research and connect with collaborators and investors. Science companies and funding agencies can use targeted search to gather market intelligence and identify projects with translational potential.
