On September 21st, noted composer & cornet player Taylor Ho Bynum plays his first headlining show in Boston in way too long. His new record The Ambiguity Manifesto drops the day before, and his longtime sextet - THB with Jim Hobbs on alto, every-award-winning guitarist Mary Halvorson, bass trombone & tuba player Bill Lowe, bassist Ken Filiano and drummer Tomas Fujiwara- will draw from this work and beyond for this performance. This is a big one folks. Don't take it from me: tix are selling briskly for the chance to hear this coming-together of some of the finest from New York, New Haven & Boston's creative music scenes.
This show will be Mandorla Music's first at Hope Central Church in Jamaica Plain. There's parking on site, and the church is a short walk to both Green Street station on the Orange Line and to bustling Centre Street, home to many fine spots for dinner, dessert and drinks.
