Tiffani Faison
Chef/Owner, Tiger Mama + Sweet Cheeks
Chef, restauranteur, culinary consultant, and television personality Tiffani Faison earned her stripes cooking in the kitchens of renowed chefs such as Todd English, Alain Ducasse, and Tony Maws. Now she is well known both for making it to the top two on the first season of Top Chef and for her two brilliant restaurants in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood. Sweet Cheeks, the first, dishes out “BBQ bliss” (Zagat). We’re talking BBQ chopped brisket available in quarter-pound increments, broccoli cheese casserole, and fried green tomatoes. The newly opened Tiger Mama serves Southeast Asian cuisine from star anise–braised pork shank, pickled mustard greens, chili vinegar, and a soft poached egg to chrysanthemum greens, garlic chive, radicchio, and dandelion greens. Both serve family-style food that runs the gamut of sweet, rich, earthy, spicy, salty, sometimes all at once.
