About This Seminar:
Sue-Ellen Anderson-Haynes, MS, RD, CDCES, LDN, NASM-CPT, will lead an inspiring lecture where she speaks about the importance of taking care of yourself, and the art of diabetes selfcare. Her lecture will be followed by a diabetic-food friendly cooking demonstration by Nutritionist Christine Sinclair, MA, MS, RD, LDN.

About the Series:
Please join us for the second round of the Navigating Diabetes Through Food and Community series. This two-week program series with session held online and in-person at the Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library or the Grove Hall Stop & Shop.
Patrons are invited to join one or many sessions where they will learn from professionals who will cover a range of topics including community building, healthy cooking demonstrations, Qi Gong movement, and more. Whether patrons have been diagnosed with diabetes, prediabetes, or are close to someone with someone with these diagnoses, all are welcome. Registration is required for each session.

Sue-Ellen Anderson-Haynes, MS, RD, CDCES, LDN, NASM-CPT is a mother, wife, co-author, health writer, recipe developer, health speaker, diabetes and fitness expert, and holistic plant-based women’s health registered dietitian. She is currently the National Media Spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Nominating Committee Co-Chair for Massachusetts Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Chair-elect for Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine Dietetics Practice Group and an active member of Boston Organization of Nutritionist and Dietitians of Color.
Anderson-Haynes is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, National Academy of Sports Medicine Women’s Fitness Specialist Certified Personal Trainer and holds her Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management. She is a dietitian of over 15 years with specialties in diabetes, weight management, girls and women’s health, prenatal/maternal nutrition, vegan/vegetarian diet, integrative and functional nutrition and general health and wellness (cancer, heart disease, gastrointestinal disorders, etc.).
After working at Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston for almost 7 years, she founded 360Girls&Women® – a holistic health & wellness company for girls, whose mission is to provide evidence-based information and services to help maximize a woman's complete health through the complete life-cycle – preventing, managing, and reversing certain reproductive and chronic illnesses- using nutrition as the foundation along with other innovative holistic practices. She is also the co-founder of culturd™ at iamculturd.com – a Digital Healthcare App that connects Dietitians to Clients based on culture.
Sue-Ellen obtained her Bachelor of Science in Food Science & Human Nutrition, Specialization Dietetics, with a minor in Health Science Education from the University of Florida and her Master of Science in Nutrition & Wellness from Andrews University, Summa Cum-Laude.
Christine Sinclair, MA, MS, RD, LDN leads health and wellness programs and initiatives for Stop & Shop in the Grove Hall and Boston areas. As a registered dietitian nutritionist, she is an advocate for cultural integration and community nutrition and has a passion for addressing chronic conditions through a food as medicine approach. She enjoys offering cooking demonstrations, developing and delivering nutrition programs and partnering with customers on creating a plan for healthful eating for life all while encouraging them to reach other life goals through a healthy lifestyle lens. She loves entertaining friends, cooking with her family and finding more ways to share laughs and have more gratitude moments.
