Come and explore the wonderful music of J.S. Bach and his sons.
The name of Bach dominated Europe for many generations.
And speaking of talented families, the wonderful Keila Wakao, will be joined by her father, Kaisuke Wakao, who happens to play oboe in the Boston Symphony Orchestra, in J.S. Bach’s iconic Concerto for Oboe and Violin. A not to be missed occasion.
First prize winner of the prestigious 2021 Menuhin International Violin Competition Junior Division, Keila has “wowed” our Symphony by the Sea audience during each of her two previous appearances with us—first in a stunning performance of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons and as soloist in Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto last spring. Her father is Assistant Principal Oboe of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Together, they will be featured in J.S. Bach’s iconic Concerto for "Oboe and Violin".
The Program
J.S. Bach: Orchestral Suite No. 3
J.C. Bach: Adagio from Sinfonia in g minor
C.P.E. Bach: Symphony in Bb Major
W.F. Bach: Symphony in F major “Dissonance”
