One of the best was to enjoy the natural beauty of Boston’s North Shore is kayaking the placid waters of The Great Marsh—the largest continuous stretch of Salt Marsh in New England, extending from Cape Ann to New Hampshire. The Castle Neck peninsula on Crane Estate is one of the largest barrier beaches that protect the tidal estuaries of the Great Marsh. Running along its back side is the Castle Neck River, an excellent location for paddlers of all skill levels to explore these waters.

At sunset, this spot is simply divine. This intimate kayak tour offers the perfect vantage point to observe the unique environment of the salt marsh and the wildlife that calls it home. Keep your eyes peeled for herons, egrets, and other shore birds – with luck we’ll spot an osprey hunting among the grasses!

Please note: Participants must be competent swimmers and age 15 or older. While appropriate for all levels of kayak skill, this trip can be physically demanding. For each guest, we provide a sit-on-top kayak, a paddle, and a personal floatation device (a.k.a., PFD or “life-vest”).
