A tender, poetic film pitched on a series of whispered bedtime conversations between Director Milstein and his 6-year-old son Alva. Father and son discuss big questions – life, death, God, and Alva’s first young romantic crush. Milstein, who also filmed and edited Summer Nights, stitches their dialogue into dreamy, at times abstract images: Alva’s first haircut; or the boy chasing butterflies in a field. But Summer Nights is also an exploration of being a father. In this masterful film, we meet Milstein’s father, learn about their history, and witness Alva’s interactions with his grandfather.
Followed by a pre-recorded conversation with Director/Producer/Cinematographer/Editor Ohad Milstein*.
