It's summer at Gore Place in the early 1800s. Costume historian Carrie Midura and assistants Macey Jennings and Katie Woodilla will show you how women would dress for summer occasions. Macey and Katie have arrived for the season at Gore Place. They will represent a married woman and a single woman as they dress for a morning at home, an afternoon of visiting, and an evening assembly. Light refreshments will be included with your ticket for this wonderful afternoon of fashion!
Carrie Midura has been researching and reproducing historic costumes since 1992, with a primary focus on 18th- and early 19th-century methods and styles since 1999. She formerly worked as the wardrobe manager for the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum and is currently on furlough from her position as Wardrobe Manager for History Alive, Inc., a historically themed immersive theatre company in Salem, Massachusetts.
This program is funded, in part, by a grant from the Weston Cultural Council, which receives support from the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
