Join us to observe resident birds and early fall migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite stomping ground for many bird species. A BNC naturalist will help us find and identify birds through field marks, sounds, and behaviors. Birders of all levels will enjoy these guided walks; beginning birders are encouraged to come! The trails are flat and easy to walk.
Target birds include Common Raven; Dowitchers & Yellowlegs; Glossy Ibis, Green Heron; Osprey; Oystercatcher; Peregrine Falcon; Semi-Palmated Plovers & Sandpipers; Saltmarsh Sparrow; Snowy Egret; Tree, Rough-Winged, & Barn Swallows; Little Blue Heron; Virginia Rail; Willet, Yellow-crowned Night-Heron.
Please bring water, sunblock/hat and insect repellant.
We will meet at the parking lot of Belle Isle: 1399 Bennington St. Boston, MA. Please note, back up location will be Millennium Park. We will make a decision based on the mosquitos at the time! And let folks know the week of the walk and notify all registrants ahead of the walk day.
6/10 (BNC), 6/25 (Millennium Park), 7/8 (BNC), 7/22 (Belle Isle), 8/12 (Belle Isle) and 8/26 (Belle Isle) bird walks will be co-sponsored by the Brookline Bird Club, and will be free of charge.
