September is Suicide Prevention Month and National Recovery Month. Join us at BPL Chinatown on 9/14,2:30pm-3:30pm for Suicide Prevention Training - a part of Stepping Strong Injury Prevention programs.
In 2021, nearly 50,000 people died by suicide. That is 1 death every 11 minutes. Suicide is a leading cause of death, yet one of the most preventable. Knowing the warning signs and how to help someone at risk can save a life.
The Stepping Strong Injury Prevention program offers suicide prevention trainings, based on the QPR model. This evidence-based program teaches participants to:
Question someone who may be suicidal.
Persuade them to get help.
Refer them to the appropriate resources.
Learn more about QPR here. Please email Veronica at [email protected] with any questions about this training.
