Beginning in 2017 as five friends formed through dreampop-centered kinship, Subsonic Eye crafts noise rock with earth-inflected parallels, brought to life through adventures in Singaporean forests and a wide-eyed love for the natural world.
On their third album, Nature of Things, the quintet finds possibilities in embracing organic energy—sometimes taking root in post-punk dynamism ("Fruitcake"), at others times blooming into primitivist folk cuts ("Cabin Fever"). But above all, the songs glowingly encapsulate their initial spark—mature indie rock that shimmers with poignant sincerity.
