STOP DROP & MAKE
An evening of art-healing.
1/7 • 6:00pm - 8:30pm
Eliot School, 24 Eliot Street, Jamaica Plain
2nd Floor, Art Room & Sewing Room
****************************************************
In the heightened state of affairs, let’s begin the new year with making art and releasing tension. The Eliot School is opening its doors as a healing space, and community members are invited to make artwork to express frustration or hope, and foster community during this difficult time.
THIS IS A FREE EVENT!

We’ve created an easy 3 step process for coping:
STOP. DROP. MAKE
This Saturday evening, put down your weekend routine, and make some therapeutic art with us. Our staff members, teaching artists, and local makers will facilitate art-making stations, and we’ll have some open working space for you to create.
+ Printmaking For Sanity: gelatin printing station with Non Issue Studio (www.nonissue.info)
+ Detangling: fibers station with V
+ Cathartic Putty-making with Ariel DiOrio
+ Taking Care: mini-zine and pin making with Small Supply (www.small.supply)
+ Open Studio: paper-making projects, sign & banner-making
***************************************************
Come with a project in mind, or get lost in the relaxing artistic processes we’ve prepared for you. Please bring any materials or supplies you would like to use. We will have some on hand, but the more materials, the better. For example you could bring:
+ Paper (any kind, any size: scrap, maps, fan mail, hate mail, junk mail....)
+ Ink, paint
+ Yarn, thread
+ Fabric scraps, vinyl, materials for banners
There will be snacks, soothing tunes, art supplies and teaching artists ready and waiting for you.
