Join us to dance and party in the streets! We'll start with a brief joyful activist march, followed by various activities including dancing, food, a People's Assembly, do-it-together art, and more. Feel free to bring signs and paraphernalia from previous climate-or-environmental events.
The People's Assembly will give participants an opportunity to practice a way for a group of people to discuss issues or make decisions collectively, where all voices are heard and valued equally, and no one person or group are able to dominate the process. Assemblies can be a form of direct action if they are being held in a space designed to be disruptive or during occupations. Here is more information on People's Assemblies: https://extinctionrebellion.uk/act-now/resources/peoples-assemblies/
This is a fantastic event for new climate activists who want to learn more about direct action and the Extinction Rebellion community. Even though this action is toward the end of the Week of Rebellion, this will be the beginning of a much larger mass climate movement in Boston! Through celebrating what we have accomplished as environmental activists and imagining a future free of fossil fuels, we will cultivate the resolve to commit to ending the fossil fuel industry.
