Oktoberfest season is here and City Tap House in Fort Point has planned the perfect occasion to pull out the dirndls and lederhosen for a beer-soaked occasion celebrating all-things Deutschland. On September 21, toast your friends during this volksfest which will transform City Tap’s patio into a full German biergarten mirroring Theresienwiese complete with oom-pah band Ludwig & Auntie Hilda and a live set by The Royal Furs. To fill your (many) steins, there will be specialty brews from Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers and Weihenstephaner available in half-liter and liter pours, as well as other Oktoberfest-themed draughts available by the pint. Those up for dominating a traditional strength and mental battle should start training now because Jack’s Abby will be on-site to host a stein-hoisting competition on Saturday beginning at 1:00pm where the last person standing will win extra swag, and of course a huge amount of pride. (Bonus: In the week leading up to the event, City Tap will feature Jack’s Abby Copper Legend by the liter on tap; for every one purchased, score a raffle ticket for your chance to win a Jack’s Abby x City Tap House swag bag when you return on September 21.)


Pair your beer with one of City Tap’s tantalizing food specials including the German Platter with a pretzel, bratwurst and sauerkraut served with whole grain mustard dipping sauce ($15) and German Chocolate Cake with coconut-pecan frosting ($12).
