Staples is ready to make identity theft protection happen just in time for tax season with free shredding services provided by Iron Mountain, a records management and paper shredding company.

On April 4, Staples is hosting a shredding event at its Natick store located at 881 Worcester Road. Customers can bring their confidential documents and get their first five pounds of paper shredded for free.

According to the IRS, tax returns and all supporting documents including bank statements should be retained for a minimum of three years. After tax season, it’s important to protect important information by destroying sensitive documents that may lead to identity theft.
