Mount Tecumseh is the smallest of the NH48, but nonetheless should be a nice trail with some decent viewpoints along the way. The trail is rated by AllTrails as moderate, it's an out-and-back trail at 5.2 miles, over 2200 ft of elevation, and should be a lovely day hike! I hike at a moderate pace (1-1.5 mph) and I like to stick together as a group, please do not join if you plan to speed ahead or don't think you can manage that pace.
Trail: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-hampshire/mount-tecumseh-trail
Required gear:
Microspikes, gaiters, non-cotton layers, winter hiking boots (not regular season boots), wool socks, two liters of hot water stored in a thermos inside of your bag (not outside), food that won't freeze, headlamp and spare batteries, non-cotton hat, and waterproof gloves, map, trekking poles (optional)
With the warming weather, I don't think snowshoes will be necessary at this point but I will monitor trail conditions online if anything comes up. It will likely be slushy/muddy with melting ice/snow.
Highly recommended
1) Hiking poles (very helpful during descent on snowy / icy trails)
2) Hand and toe warmers
Additional expectations
1) I am not a guide and this is not a service - I expect you to be fully prepared with the gear listed below and the mindset that you could get yourself out of trouble if needed.
2) We stick together - this is a group event, so if you feel that you are not flexible in working as a team, this will not be a good hike for you.
If your ridj-it profile is bare, please comment your recent hiking experience. Thanks!
Hiking 4000 footers in the winter is not an easy task. This particular hike has a considerable elevation gain.
