This is a class for students who would like a more in depth, hands on knowledge in axing out and carving a spoon. Each student will be axing out a spoon from a fresh cut Birch log. Much of the class will be learning hatchet techniques including carving, chopping and safe handling of the hatchet. The afternoon will be dedicated to learning and reviewing knife holds and exploring new grips and techniques. We will also go over knife and hatchet sharpening and finishing.
Bring you own hatchet. This doesn’t have to be fancy, just a smaller hatchet with a relatively thin blade. Please email us with any questions about this.
LUNCH IS INCLUDED IN THE CLASS PRICE. (Will be GF and Vegetarian)
When: Saturday March 14th 9:00am-4:30pm
