Latinos make up about 20 percent of the U.S. population, yet are highly underrepresented in the media. Despite being the second largest racial or ethnic group in the U.S. (after non-Hispanic whites), Latino stories are simply not being told in TV, film or the news. In this class, we'll explore, critique and celebrate Latino representation in the media throughout American history, and learn about efforts to make sure more Latino voices and talent are truly seen and heard in U.S. media.
