A self-guided walking tour of the artist work studio spaces throughout the South End neighborhood of Downtown Boston.

See how artists work, the materials they work with, and see unfinished works-in-progress. Meet the artists and get the background stories behind the pieces.


The artwork on display is one of a kind and ranges from an array of two-dimensional work including painting, photography and mixed media to sculpture, ceramics, fiber, and jewelry.


Only this weekend the public is invited to visit the various artist studio buildings, especially 46 Waltham Street, 35 Wareham Street, 49 Wareham Street, 59 Wareham Street, and the BCA at 539-551 Tremont St. which are NOT open during SoWa Sundays and First Fridays.


Artists in Their Studios is free and open to the public. While most of the artist locations are handicapped and stroller accessible, some studio buildings do not have elevators.
