Experience a deeper level of meditation with the aid of sound and vibration also known as a sound bath. Numerous studies have shown the benefits of sound on the nervous system and brain waves, decreasing stress levels while slowing brain activity. This deep state of relaxation allows the body to heal and restore while the mind drifts into a dream-like state. This hour-long event starts with a gentle breathing meditation before the 45-minute session that weaves together Himalayan singing bowls, gong, tuning forks, singing, and drumming. People of all ages and experience levels are welcome! All that is asked of participants is that they find a comfortable position whether that be seated or lying down.
It is strongly encouraged that you bring your own yoga mat, a pillow, and a blanket. Comfort is essential to fully immersive one's self in the sonic experience.
Tony Menotti has been a musician for the past 20 years diving into various instruments and genres. He received a BA in Music Performance from UMass Dartmouth in 2013 and his love of music and meditation led him to his first sound bath experience after which, he became hooked. Tony is a certified practitioner having completed training from the SAGE academy in upstate New York. He uses a variety of instruments that include antique Himalayan singing bowls, gong, tuning forks, hand drum, and vocal toning such as throat singing. Tony's goal is to facilitate a space for self healing which is why he does not use the title sound healer as he feels it is inappropriate for the role he plays. Tony believes that each participant has the ability to create positive change from within and that he is simply aiding that ability by shifting the awareness away from inner dialogue and to the present moment.
