With the launch of Soulful Stories, a book club within our collective, we’re embarking on a journey of growth and discovery. We're excited to learn from the powerful narratives of black authors, who share messages of healing, love, wealth, and anything else that might interest us.
You can get the book on Overdrive, or if you have Libby, you can borrow it as an audiobook or ebook from your local library.
Here’s the link to the book: https://www.overdrive.com/media/9549406/sisterhood-heals
This book discusses the importance of sisterhood and how it affects our lives. It also talks about the work involved in building and maintaining friendships and practices for growing and keeping them as we age.
Get ready! Our inaugural Soulful Stories book club meeting is for March 22nd at 2 PM at 11 Bow Street, Somerville, MA (MOTA). We’ll be diving into the first chapter of Sisterhood Heals. Feel free to read beyond the first chapter, but let’s start with small steps. Bring your notes, questions, and thoughts, or listen to our fellow collective members’ experiences as we learn more about sisterhood in our black community. We're excited to see our sister circles grow into a more significant reading community and to hear your suggestions for books we’d love to read and discuss together.
Please join us on March 22 for our first book club meeting. We'll start with a brief introduction and then discuss the first chapter of Sisterhood Heals. During this meeting, we’ll also discuss how often we’ll meet and how we’ll choose our next book.
See you there!
