Aperture Cellars, located in Alexander Valley, Sonoma, was named “Cult Winery of the Year” and is known for its bold and structured Bordeaux style wines, especially Cabernet Sauvignon.
Fun facts: Winemaker, Jesse Katz has been named 40 Under 40 Tastemaker by Wine Enthusiast and was the first winemaker on the Forbes 30 Under 30. Aperture Cellars was recently selected as a Rising Star by Wine Spectator and a bottle of his 2015 The Setting Wines just became the most expensive single bottle of wine ever sold, earning $350,000 at Emeril Lagasse’s annual charity wine auction.
Aperture Cellars is a perfect example of Bordeaux varieties growing in the cooler pockets of Sonoma. Warm, sunny days and brisk nights ensure that every bottle bursts with freshness, no matter how generous the fruit. The wines are plump, intense, and juicy while remaining clean and complex. Join our host, Andy Katz (the official artist for the Boston Wine & Food Festival AND father to Aperture Winemaker, Jesse Katz). His stories of how Aperture was conceived after countless treks with his son to wine regions around the world pairs perfectly with the four-course dinner menu created by Executive Chef David Daniels.
This dinner will take place at 7pm in the Meritage Room of the Boston Harbor Hotel on Thursday, March 16th. Tickets to this event are $245 each inclusive of tax and gratuity and can be purchased here.
