"Songs of Freedom" is a 10-hour music marathon paying tribute to the heritage and influence of black music.
June is Black Music Month and we are celebrating the healing and transformative power of black music with a 10-hour virtual music marathon.
"Songs of Freedom" will celebrate local artists and the essential spaces that welcome their freedom of expression. This is a fundraiser to support our musical family and the reopening of critical cultural space, Darryl's Corner Bar & Kitchen.
Join us on Juneteenth (June 19) from 12 PM - 10 PM for a day filled with live performances streaming to you virtually from Darryl's Corner Bar and Kitchen. Don't miss DJ Val Beatz spinning the classics in between sets throughout the day. The 10-hour line up includes:
+ Black Owned (@Black.0wned)
+ Valerie Stephens (@ValerieStephens27)
+ Pat Loomis (@Pat.Loomis)
+ Gregory Groover Jr. (@GregGroover)
+ Sympli Whitney Productionz (@SympliWhitney)
+ The Christman Collective (@TheChristmanCollective)
+ Zeke Martin (@ZzMartin)
With a special tribute to our friend and flutist, the late great, Lance Martin -- featuring Jonathan Singleton, Joe Sumrell, Pat Loomis, and Zeke Martin.
The night wouldn't be complete without a finale by the Boston Music Award Winning NwaSoul (@nwasoul).
This is a virtual live music event. Virtual VIP tickets are available for $25. VIP ticket holders will receive a specialty cocktail kit available for pick up on Thursday, June 18th.
