In the 18th and early 19th centuries, the families living at the Loring Greenough House and farming estatein Jamaica Plain used the labor of enslaved and indentured people. Scant information has long been known about their presence; recent research has uncovered more details.
Join us for a free talk and live-stream, held in collaboration with Hidden Jamaica Plain and the Jamaica Plain Historical Society, at the Loring Greenough House on Monday, June 10 at 7 p.m. to learn about the new findings and the ongoing study being conducted by volunteers.
Following a very well-attended talk on this history last January at First Church Parish Hall in January, this event is part of a series of collaborations, which will include a permanent exhibition, as new research emerges. The Loring Greenough House, a volunteer-run organization, invites all to attend this talk and to work with the organization to delve deeper into its history.
This event is FREE and space is limited so if you will be attending in person, be sure to register early. Thank you!
